Auction Raises Thousands for Education at Oregon Logging Conference

Each year the Oregon Women in Timber (OWIT) hold an dinner and auction at the Oregon Logging Conference to raise money and awareness for the Talk About Trees program.

This year the OWIT raised between $65,000 and $70,000, thanks to the generosity of OLC attendees. (Not that we didn't already know that the timber industry is made up of a generous group of people.)

Fund will be used to fund visits by qualified facilitators to elementary school classrooms. They presentation, which is like an inside field trip, encourages awareness and appreciation for the value of trees and forests in the daily lives of people, and provides a better understanding of the methods utilized to conserve, manage, and protect forest resources.

Thank you for everyone who participated, either donating auction items or bidding. Your generosity will go a long way.
