NASF accepting applications for Winter/Spring Forest Policy Internship

The NASF Foundation sponsors an internship opportunity at the National Association of State Foresters in Washington, DC.

Who Should Apply: Advanced undergraduate or graduate students at SAF-accredited forestry schools or with a strong interest in forest policy. Outstanding writing skills and ability to work quickly are absolutely necessary. NASF representatives will work with academic institution to arrange for academic credit. Preference will be given to applicants who are receiving academic credit for the internship.

Duties: Attend and report on Congressional hearings on forestry and natural resources issues, interact with wide variety of forest policy makers. Work with Director of Federal Forest Policy to assist legislative tracking. Attend other meetings with agency and interest group representatives as necessary. Assist with NASF office duties as needed.

Stipend: Selected candidate will be paid stipend of $1300.00 per month. No other benefits. NASF encourages interested candidates to work with academic institution for financial aid.

Starting/Ending Dates: Dates negotiable for up to a 15-week period, beginning early January and running through mid-april.

Deadline for Applications: Applications must be received no later than Friday, December 7.
