ShadeFund provides small loans to green entrepreneurs across America. As entrepreneurs repay their loans, those same dollars are recycled to help other entrepreneurs grow. Loans range from $5,000 to $50,000 and go to entrepreneurs who contribute to the sustainable use of local natural resources.

ShadeFund focus sectors include: sustainable forestry and forest products, organic and sustainable farming, ecotourism and agritourism, energy efficiency projects, and small-scale biomass.

Capital can be used for the purposes of certification, new equipment, additional inventory, working capital, and facility improvements.

A program of The Conservation Fund, ShadeFund was established with a lead grant from the U.S. Endowment for Forestry and Communities and Mercedes-Benz USA. View the video below:
