Klamath Falls got a good reminder last week of the potential danger of wildfires when one broke out on city’s north side and forced evacuations of people in the area. Fortunately, there were no injuries to people or damage to buildings.
Wildfires are chronic danger this time of year in the West. Lack of moisture leads to dry trees and large stands of yellowed grass. It doesn’t take much to set it off and the more the buildings of urban life move out into forests and grasslands, the more the danger to people and property. read more >>
