In response to numerous brush fires around the state over the weekend and dangerous wildfire conditions, Gov. Scott Walker on Tuesday declared a state of emergency for Wisconsin.
The National Weather Service issued “red flag warnings” for a number of counties in the central and western portions of the state on Sunday and Monday. With wildfire conditions still deemed dangerous Tuesday, Walker declared the state of emergency to give the Department of Natural Resources additional help if needed, a statement from Walker’s office said. read more >>
